... Chilean Maipo Carmenere
is back ... ... ... more new
Limiteds, more new
wines! :)
Aloha
winemaker,
We
know you were waiting for it - the new
Limited Editions for 2008!

***
New Limited wines are here!!! _ (drumroll...) The
line-up is...
Chilean
Maipo Valley Carmenere-Cabernet... (bottling
in a week) If you didn't get it the first time two years
ago, now's your chance. This wine ROCKS. That is,
if you like luscious jammy mouthfuls of ripe blueberry and dark
plums with touches of chocolate n coffee, velvet on the tongue and
supple thru the finish. If you don't, it's ok, many will - or we'll
drink it.
Australian
(Dry) Riesling...
(bottling in a week) Did you see the BIG article
in this last December issue of Wine Spectator? No? Well well...
lets just say it LAUDS and praises em! Expect "a totally dry
white in a compelling, steely, lively style". Mmm. With citrus,
floral, hints of peach & other stone fruits, and a tease of
minerality, like 'warm rain on stones'. Mmm hmm.
(BTW, we ONLY have 9 left!)
Sicilian
Nero d'Avola-Shiraz... (bottling
early April) Sicily has long hot summers, mild winters and
just enough rain - perfect for strong vines and yummy wine. How
fun. The suggestive descriptions of blueberry to blackberry
and scents of rose, herbs and smoke have us looking forward to bottling.
Though it'll benefit from a years age, this is one that sounds like
its just fine to enjoy as is, drink up & come back for more!
Pacific
Quartet... (arrriving mid-March)
What's that? Good question! In the 'nouveau tradition' like ours
;), its a very uniquely blended white you won't find anywhere else,
and is the sweet offering
for this year's set. And unique it is
- Vidal (from British Columbia) for stone fruit and spiciness, Chenin
Blanc (from California) for apple and melon, Gewurztraminer (from
Washington) for lychee and pepper, and Muscat (from Australia) for
dried rich fruit and orange peel. What's this mean? Drink
it.
Italian
Brunello... (arriving April)
This should perk up a few eyebrows in the crowd. Brunello is the
large-berried variety of the Sangiovese grape, most famous in Brunello
di Montalcino. Oh y e a h.. The profile is fruity and intense, with
a firm natural acidity and a robust finish. The aroma is a subtle
mix of strawberry, cherry and violet notes. Enough said.
(would
you like to 'volunteer' your assistance and help us bottle our WTX
house wines? ;) BE THE FIRST to try new wines as we roll em out,
or just enjoy what needs bottling! benefits are ... well, you should
know! if you would like to 'apply', please email,

crew!

and some new additions to our repetoire...
Chilean
Pinot Noir...For those always salivating to
try anything of the 'New Burgundy' classic. Bright ruby color and
red berry flavors. Supple with a hint of herbiness and a touch of
fresh earth. A feeling of soft tannin elegance and a subtle oak.
Vibrant and food friendly. Translation = pleasurably easy to enjoy!
Premier
Single Vineyard South Australian Shiraz...
A medium-full bodied wine combining the fruit flavours of plum and
currants with the silky-smooth taste of chocolate and firm tannins.
Its a Premier with the crushed skins, so watch out.
Symphony...
is BACK too!!! This was another popular Limited we were sad to see
go, so we're happy for its return! A dry white wine with the incredibly
intense aromas of melon, grapefruit, mango, peach, banana and papaya.
Dee-lish!
Barolo...
Internally we call it a Bin4. Externally its our new standard for
this majestic Italian classic. Beefed up the heat a notch, intensified
the fruit, weighed it down and filled the mouthfeel. Can't tell
you more or we'd have to.... Just try it.
AND
THERE'S STILL MORE COMING! I count three more
new wines before the summer's end!
But hopefully this wi'll keep you sated
for now.
We'll keep you posted. . . . .
